Finance Banking and Insurance

General Information about the Department

As it is known, Banking and Insurance education has gained particular importance depending on the developments in the global and Turkish economy and business world. The Turkish banking sector became more vigorous and resistant to risks with the measures taken after the 2001 crisis. When we look at the future of the banking sector in Turkey, it is expected that the most crowded part of the population in the 2020s will be the 30-50 age group, which is expected to need banking services the most. This indicates a significant potential for the banking sector. The financial industry consists of brokerage houses, factoring, financial leasing, and asset management companies, primarily banks and insurance companies, which play a role in financing economic activities. Considering the nature of employment in these sectors, it is seen that approximately 75% of the personnel are university graduates.

The banking and Insurance program was opened in the 2008-2009 academic year as a program of ALTSO Vocational School. Students who graduate with all kinds of knowledge, experience, and practice in the field of Banking and Insurance receive the titles of "Insurer Professional Person" and "Banker."

The Banking and Insurance program aims to train qualified and well-equipped intermediate staff to meet the sector's needs. In addition, the program aims to increase and update the knowledge level of employees in the banking and insurance sectors; It aims to prepare those who plan to work in these sectors for the profession and to inform those who work in various institutions and organizations and have intensive relations with banks and insurance companies. However, they do not intend to work in these sectors. Within the program's framework, personnel equipped with professional knowledge and experience are trained to take a competent role in the banking and insurance sectors integrated into the global system. The graduates of the program, as a trained workforce potential, contribute to the banking and insurance sectors and serve as entrepreneurial and innovative individuals with high communication skills, full of self-confidence, following the current developments in the national and international platforms related to the sector.
