General Information About the Department

Information and communication technologies continue to develop continuously and dynamically due to the changing needs at the global level. Making access to information and communication faster and easier has become a vital necessity in people's business lives and their daily lives. Many devices used to save time in business and everyday life is now expressed as intelligent devices controlled by computer programs. In this period, when technological developments continue unabated, the way companies, government institutions, and therefore the whole country can keep up with the results in information and communication technologies is to have qualified technical personnel with the ability to develop software.

The Computer Programming associate degree program was opened within the ALTSO Vocational School in the 2021-2022 academic year and met with its first students. Students who graduate by taking applied training in Computer Programming to receive the title of "Computer Programmer" or "Computer Technician."

 

Education

To graduate from the program, it is necessary to have completed all of the courses given in 4 semesters (120 ECTS). The Computer Programming program carries out a training plan suitable for raising the intermediate workforce with theoretical and practical infrastructure in desktop, web, and mobile programming. In addition to hardware, database, algorithm, and mathematics courses, the program includes compulsory and elective courses for specializations needed for programming in different fields.

Registration, examination, and evaluation procedures of students are carried out by the Higher Education Law and the decisions and regulations of the Higher Education Council based on this law. Students who graduate from the program receive the "Computer Programming Associate Degree."

 

Sections that can pass with DGS

Students who graduate from the Computer Programming program must take a central exam (DGS) conducted by the national examination center (ÖSYM) to continue their undergraduate education from the 5th semester of formal education or open education undergraduate programs.
